Galería de arte – Lynn Azadian

Art Gallery by Lynn Azadian

Hey there!

How nice that you take some time to look at my artwork! It is the source of my peace, it is where I get to sink my mind in a fantasy world after a hard days work. I hope you also can find a  safe place like this, perhaps in creating as well? Let me inspire you!

I like to try everything, from drawing with a pen, charcoal, sticks my fingers to brushes on everything from napkins, clothes or stones to a canvas with all kinds of motives and styles. My hope is to create something I want to keep looking at, because I can shift my vision from abstract to reality or from some meaning of the picture to another.

These moments fascinate me deeply in life, the moments when I get a glimpse of another viewpoint, when I get to see the world through somebody elses eyes, when I find a blind spot in my view or learn a new concept. In that way  my work as a doctor both inspires my artwork and is inspired by this need to connect and to learn.

In the following Pictures I will try to explain to how I aspire to  achieve this shifting-moment.

Here you can see two fairly realistic scenes. That is where I start off my drawing, it is my training. In order to be able to make the observer recognize, I focus on what’s important- the foreground, light and shadow ect. This Focus remains the most important factor for me throughout my work.

In these two pictures I shift my focus to somewhat unusual excerpts of reality, which therefore can appear to be abstract scenes at first glance.

The next ones show you how I start to simplify forms and textures, notice how I don’t draw the tigers fur or the leaves for example.

I start to loose touch with reality somewhat more, still these two scenes remind us of real scenes in color and form. But notice how the branches don’t grow in a realistic way so it gives the impression of a wide angle with a look up. The second image can be a women looking to the left or a man looking to the right, so you can shift the view.

You can probably still guess what inspired me for these works, even if I didn’t use the right colors and distorted the form. In the first picture your eye can chose what is in the foreground and whether to see waves,  mountains and fire, a burst of colors or something completely different.

I hope I could inspire you to get creative!
